Off to a GREAT year!

We have finished all of our assessments and jumping into our curriculum. For our social studies unit we have been researching "What makes a community". The students decided on using the Brick Lab to create a model of their ideal community. They split into 7 groups of three and began their process of discovery. We then met back together and they had to pick their top five structures that are important. What a great conversation as once a structure was picked, they had to justify their reason for the importance of including into the community. If a duplicate came up, they had to pick another. Final project will be posted October 8th. During parent/teacher conferences, stop by and check out our mini community called "Leaf Village". Students decided on a Fall theme.
